Being an aunt taking care of a sibling's 4 children when they’ve passed away, had not been an easy road to travel. Since I’m not their parent I’ve been limited to all I could do for them without court orders. The youngest 3 children I was able to get situated because their father agreed to file the petition. However, the eldest child’s (Different father) situation was a bit difficult and needed a lot of work. My nephew is a type 1 diabetic, and I struggled trying to find a law firm that would help situate my urgent need to care for my nephew since the passing of my sister, and the father has never been in the picture.
